As you can see on the first of the pictures, the tower exhibited large areas of deteriorated and weathered mortar joints along with loose and missing brick.
. On order to prevent any further deterioration, the entire tower was routed out and repointed. An application of water repellent was applied in order to preserve the integrity of the new mortar joints and prevent future corrosion of the brick and mortar.
